There are multiple recommendations to increase your grades:
1. Attendance
One of the most important factors toward academics is attendance. There is substantial research and statistics that clearly show the relationship of good attendance and student achievement. If you miss school regularly, this is one of the first things you should change. Students should make every possible effort to attend school promptly each day.
If there is a low grade in a specific class, check Skyward! If you see any missing assignments or items that are marked as zeros, then those are points that are dragging the grade down significantly. We strongly recommend that you connect with the teacher to prioritize what should be done first. Please check the link above for the Skyward link as well as directions on how to retrieve your log-in information.
**PARENTS: You can save your Skyward settings to email you anytime your student's grades fall below a percentage, or you can set it to send you daily/weekly grade reports! This is located in the 'My Account' option at the top right of your Skyward page.
3. Connect With the Specific Teacher
If there are additional concerns or struggles occurring in a classroom, we ask that you connect with the teacher regarding what can be done. Many times, the teacher has additional resources for parents and students.
4. Warrior Time
Wawasee High School has a built-in class period called Warrior Time which meets every day except for Wednesdays. Every student in the building is assigned a Warrior Time for the entire school year. Students are able to use this time to go and get help from any of their teachers, make-up quizzes and tests, or catch up on missing homework. Additional help or tutoring is meant to be built into this Warrior Time. We strongly encourage parents and students to use this Warrior Time every day if there are struggles occurring in a classroom.
5. Tutoring
