Online Classes

To make Driver Education as convenient as possible for students and families, Wawasee offers the classroom portion of the program online. Students may complete the required coursework from home and work through the material on their own schedule.

Program Cost

The program fee includes both the classroom portion and behind-the-wheel driving instruction.

Payment must be submitted with the enrollment form to reserve a student's place. Please make checks payable to WHS Driver Education.

Enrollment forms and payment may be turned in to the office of Milford Middle School, Wawasee Middle School, or Wawasee High School.

Students who do not attend one of these schools may drop off or mail their registration to:

Driving Sessions

Behind-the-wheel instruction is offered year-round, with additional driving availability during the summer. Sessions may be scheduled seven days a week, including after school, Saturdays, Sundays, and school vacations.

Driving sessions are not scheduled on Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, or July 4.

Driving instructors will contact students when they are ready to begin and will provide scheduled driving dates and times.

If your student will be unavailable during the next two months because of vacations, camps, or other commitments, please list those dates on the enrollment form.

Schedule Changes & Make-Up Sessions

Make-up driving sessions required because of a conflict that was not listed on the enrollment form will be charged at $30 per hour.

The same fee applies if a student cannot complete a scheduled drive because they do not have their learner's permit.

Students scheduled to drive during the summer will receive a reminder in May so they can provide updated unavailable dates.

Learner's Permit

Once a student has started the Driver Education classroom course, they may begin practicing with a parent or legal guardian after receiving their learner's permit from the BMV.

Students must take and pass the written knowledge test at the BMV before they can receive their Driver Education learner's permit.

Driving Skills Test

Students who complete the entire Wawasee Driver Education program, including both classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction, may complete their driving skills test through our program for an additional $20 fee.
