Principal’s Message

At the heart of Wawasee High School is Principal Geoff Walmer, who believes in high expectations, small-town connections, and building a culture where every Warrior is known, challenged, and deeply valued.
 

Dear Warriors, Friends of Warriors and Prospective Warriors,

Thank you, parents and guardians of current Warriors for trusting us with your most precious gifts.  For those of you considering calling Wawasee your home, we would love the opportunity to get to know you and welcome you into our family.  One thing I love most about Wawasee High School is that we are large enough in size to offer extracurricular activities that typically only rather large schools have, but yet small enough to still have that family-feel.  

As we pursue becoming the best high school in the State of Indiana, we recognize that we must continue to grow in multiple areas, including the preparation of students entering college, the workforce, or the military.  We have enjoyed many celebrations over the last several years with continued growth in each of these areas.  Likewise, we must also continue to grow in character development so that our students can live up to our mission statement of “...that positively impact their communities.”  An area of focus for this is to become the most compassionate high school in the State of Indiana.

We believe that all students have the ability to achieve at high levels, and we encourage them to pursue excellence without excuse, all while understanding the importance of kindness, empathy and compassion.  As the saying goes, “It takes a village to raise a child.”  We LOVE being part of that village for each of our Warriors.  

I look forward to seeing you at an upcoming event or game where we can cheer on our Warriors together.
