One of the first things Seniors need to do this year is sign up on-line at Parchment. The vast majority of colleges use Parchment as their preferred method of receiving high school transcripts.
This is a free, secure way to have your transcript electronically submitted to the colleges you select. You need to do this as soon as possible as the Guidance Office will not be mailing paper copies of transcripts, except in very rare instances.
You are able to request a transcript to be sent to yourself. Use this version only to have a personal copy of your transcript. If you need a copy for a scholarship, please email Mrs. McKinney (jmckinney@wawasee.k12.in.us) in the guidance office for a cleaner Skyward version.
Please note that for dual credits the school you plan to attend will require an official transcript FROM the college/university in which you earned the dual credit (not your Wawasee transcript). If you took dual credit courses from multiple colleges, you will need to fill out a transcript request for each school from which you earned dual credit.

FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
Students planning to attend college should file the FAFSA regardless of their income status in order to be considered at any college for financial aid.
FAFSA Window for Seniors: opens October 1, 2023
Check with the college you plan to attend to see if they have an earlier deadline, especially if you are attending an out-of-state school. This FAFSA application is an online process that you must re-submit every year of college.
Scholarship Information
A spreadsheet with scholarships has been created for your convenience. The applications will be attached when the application window becomes available. The Standard Wawasee & Kosciusko County forms are included. Check this spreadsheet periodically for all updates!!! A pdf version of your transcript is available in your Skyward portfolio for you to use with your scholarship applications.

Local Scholarships:
Start with these scholarships first. You have a higher chance of winning them because they are considered local to our Wawasee students. These are offered through our WHS Scholarship Spreadsheet. There will either be a website link to the application, or the student will be instructed to go to our SCHOLARSHIP DRAWER in the Guidance Office to pick up a paper application. Scholarships with paper applications are listed in alphabetical order in the drawer. Some are application specific, some require the Wawasee Scholarship Application, and others require the Kosciusko County Standard Scholarship Application. Only fill out these application links if the scholarship specifically says to do so.

If you need a PDF version of your transcript emailed to you to attach to any on-line scholarship applications, please email Mrs. McKinney in the guidance office jmckinney@wawasee.k12.in.us
If you need anyone to write you a Letter of Recommendation OR if you need a counselor to fill out a Counselor Form through Parchment, Common App, Send EDU, fill out the
Letter of Recommendation / Counselor Form In this form, you will list everything that your recommender will need to know about you in order to write a strong letter. You will automatically receive a copy of your responses in your student email. Forward this email with your answers to the person (counselor or teacher) that you would like to write you a letter. Do not delete this email - you may need your answers in the future for another letter!
Give the person writing the letter at least two weeks’ notice before you need it returned to you! In some cases, the letter will need to be mailed directly from the writer. If that is the case, provide them with an addressed, stamped envelope.
If you prefer a paper copy, you can enter your information directly into the word version of the Letter of Recommendation and then print out copies. You are responsible for printing and giving the filled-out form to the adult that you want to write a letter of recommendation for you. Make copies of your paper form so that you don't have to rewrite your answers every time you want another letter of recommendation. Keep them on hand to give to various adults as you go through the college process.
Please Plan Ahead - our office receives numerous counselor recommendations to be processed during the fall. Don't wait until the last minute.
