Wawasee High School will host the 1st Annual Green and Gold Relays on Saturday, May 2, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Wawasee High School track. The community is invited to attend and cheer on student-athletes during a unique varsity coed track and field meet that brings together members of both the girls and boys track teams in shared relay and field-event competitions.
The Green and Gold Relays are designed to create a high-energy, community-centered track meet in which every event includes both male and female athletes working together toward a combined team score. Field events, including high jump, long jump, pole vault, shot put, and discus, will feature two boys and two girls, with their best marks combined for one team measurement. Relay events will also include two boys and two girls competing together in designated event orders.
The day will begin with field events at 10:00 a.m., followed by the National Anthem at 10:15 a.m. and Senior Recognition at 10:20 a.m. Running events are scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m., with awards scheduled for approximately 11:50 a.m.
In addition to the competition, several community food vendors will be on-site for spectators to enjoy, including Tom's Coffee Truck, Kona Ice, Joe's Ice Cream, and Amanda's Tacos.
Wawasee High School encourages families, students, alumni, and community members to come out for this first annual event, support Warrior student-athletes, and enjoy a morning of competition, school spirit, and community connection.
